How Can One Manage Chest Pain While Suffering From Multiple Sclerosis?

My wife has recently been diagnosed with MS. She has had a three day treatment at 2 hour episodes of IV prednisone. She had an ECG on Monday and yesterday has now developed a pain in her chest (middle) which has now moved to her heft side (within the breast area). She will see a doctor today (after an appointment can be made) but should she go to the emergency section of the hospital?

Hello,

As she is having a chest pain it is but obvious that the ECG and blood test has to be done. Since you didn't mention what ECG reports were, we cannot actually comment more until we get any reports. Also, she is having MS so the drug can induce some of the brain activity. But it is good you have come down to a hospital.

It will be good if the ECG reports are known. But still can say it won't be something abnormal as it doesn't happen in MS at a younger age. Also, you haven't mentioned any pathology of the heart like hypertension so on a hypothetical basis we can say it won't need an ER to be seen. On a safe side, it's always good to see one.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
