How Can Misophonia Be Treated?

Hi! The sound of velcro is terribly uncomfortable to me. Just thinking about the sound gives me physical discomfort. It s as if someone is shoving needles into both my ears. Also, I get extremely irritated when someone near me is playing with velcro, to the point where I have to control myself. This only happens with the sound of velcro. Nails on a chalkboard, chewing, etc, doesn t bother me at all. What s wrong with me?

Oncologist 's  Response
Hi,

Misophonia might involve therapy or lifestyle recommendations, such as using sound protection or creating noise-free zones within living spaces. Aerobic activity for 20–30 minutes 5 days a week improves cardiovascular health. If injured, pursuing an activity that avoids the injured muscle group or joint can help maintain physical function while recovering.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monish De,
Oncologist.
