How Can Low Blood Sugar Level Be Dealt With?

I've been dealing with low blood sugar for as long as i can remember. So far i've been doing pretty good at recognizing the symptoms and eating before it gets really low. Two days ago I started feeling my sugar was low but this was different I was nauses and in a daze. I used a meter that I bought to test my sugar around nine o clock by which time i hadn't eaten that day (stupid I know) my result was 120 i was uncomfortable with this reading because of the way i felt waited about 10 to fifteen minutes drank a small glass of oj and took it again and it was 96. I decided at this point to check the meter and ran a contro solution and the meter showed fine but when i took it again it was 124 I decided to get something to eat had fruit and an acai berry shake then checked it was at a 115. Yesterday I ate a healthy breakfast and drank an energy drink around the middle of day (usually doesn't have any effect on glucose except to drop it a little faster) I got home and around seven and started to get the symptoms again but with the same nauses feeling tested my sugar and it was at 193. I don't have insurance and usually don't go to urgent care unless I really need to but it seems that at this point I might need to get checked out does it seem that this could be devoloping into diabetes.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

I understand your worries of not having insurance, but, from what you are describing, you really need to see your family doctor first.

I advise to monitor your blood sugar :
- early in the morning (fasting)
- 2 hours after eating

record the results to pass them to your doctor. You need other blood tests like:
- complete blood count
- HbA1C test
- urine analysis
- abdominal ultrasound

to determine the right cause.

Please bare in mind that what you eat and physical activity matter.

All the best!
