How Can Loss Of Sensation In The Arm Be Restored?

Hello. My 20 year old nephew was in a motorcycle accident in August in which he suffered the loss of use in his right arm.. He is getting tests done to see if there is any nerve endings left in his spine. I read an article about the ability of sialidase to improve spinal nerve regeneration into transplanted peripheral nerves, Is there anything my sister should ask the physician about when she goes in for the prognosis? Wondering if there has been any advancements which may not be well known yet which will help nerve regeneration in his spine.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

Most probably it is due to nerve damage suffered during the accident.

You might require surgical correction if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
