Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my name is Dave. I fell off of a ladder 4 months ago and hurt my knee. After 2 weeks, I went to the doctor. He did a knee check and diagnosed possible medial meniscus damage. I went to physical therapy for about 6 weeks. They had me do lots of exercises at their place and at home each day. My knee still was not getting better. I had an MRI about 5 weeks ago and a transverse lateral hairline fracture of the tibia was diagnosed. But the knee hurts primarily on the medial side. It began to get better for about 3 weeks, but then a chair I sat down in gave way and I felt a jolt in my knee. Since then it has felt like it did when I hurt it 4 months ago. Any advice you would have for me would be greatly appreciated.
Since the physiotherapy alone does not seem to be helping, surgery is the next best option. Please be advised to follow up with your orthopedician. Meanwhile, take Advil for pain relief, avoid strenuous activities and use a knee brace for stability.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
