Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter just came home from school with what looks like a bunch of bug bites on her legs. We were camping over the weekend so it s either bug bites or poison ivy - although it appears to be single dots and not rash like. Will Mupironcin Ointment USP 2% be helpful if they are bug bites
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes you can use Mupirocin ointment. Apply it after a thorough wash. You can give her Diphenhydramine, it reduces itching. Application of Calamine lotion also works well, visit ER & get her physically examined if the bug bites do not reduce or if she gets uncomfortable with it. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
