How Can Itchy Insect Bite Be Treated?

I slept for 2 nights on a floor mat at the home of friends in the process of moving. Beds had been removed from the home so I had taken a folding foam pad and placed it on the carpet. Now I have bites on my ankles, midsection and wrists and back. The itching is pronounced. What is best to curtail the itching?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can take an anti allergic tablet and start a steroidal cream twice a day for a week. Also use mild soaps like a moisturising one. But best is the get the rash reviewed first before the dermatologist or the concerned doctor can prescribe you the medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Smruti Pevekar
