How Can Irregular Periods Be Treated?

Hi, i hope you can help me. I have irregular menses eversince I was at my teenage years. Had gyne check last yr and it turned out i have high prolactin and was prescribed with medication to lower it down. My gyne also prescribed premulot for me to take in 3months so we can regulate my menses. My ultrasound report shows that i have tiny simple cysts. Fast forward, early this month I had 8days of light black discharge followed by light red -tiny blood clots... i was worried about it. My discharges has no smell. Only the color and amount was an issue for me because i can only fill a panty liner for it. I am not yet married and never been into sexual activities in my whole life. And i also observe good hygenic care and do handwashing before and after using the bathroom to avoid infection. Im afraid it could be something. I undergone ultrasound again last week and it shows 2 simple cyst and according to the doctor it can be flushed out with my menses. But im still botheres about my period. I hope u can help me with this. Thank you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think this situation comes from Prolactin elevated levels. You have to take Bromocriptine for some times to see if they get normal. You need further monitoring.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
