How Can Intolerance To Milk Be Treated?

Hello doctor ...please give me a advice what to do ...actually i m having a problem when i have milk i m not able to digest it.when i have milk or i have food within half and hour i have to go to washroom and get a pain in my stomach .and nothing digests.due to which i m under wait and not avle to have good physique kindly please help me out doctor .i ll be thankful to u

Thanks for your question,

What you have is termed lactose intolerance. For my patients with this diagnosis, the main thing I tell them is to avoid or reduce the intake of foods containing lactose such as cheese, milkshakes, butter, and ice cream. However, because of the calcium needs met by milk, you should also take calcium supplements. Futhermore, if you must take milk, whole milk and chocolate milk are better tolerated.

Practice these dietary changes and visit your doctor to investigate for a secondary cause of this condition, as indigestion of lactose, being the cause of this condition, can be predisposed to by worm infestations and parasitic gut infections. Therefore, while you adhere to the dietary adjustments, visit your primary care doctor to treat any underlying gut infections.
