How Can Inflammation On The Tongue And Throat Be Treated?

I had a cold a month ago. Then my tounge puffed up, had red on sides, inflammed, my throat was red and sore, with red bumps on the back of my tounge. The roof of my mouth is white and now i have a sore on my cheek and my mouth is red and blotchy. Ive been on antibotics and it didnt help.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have inflammation on the tongue and throat which seems to be due to sore throat, it could be due to acid reflux and herpes infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. It its due to viral infection then it will go away in few days without any treatment . If its bacterial then doctor will prescribe antibiotic course . For now take medication such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen to ease pain. Start gargling with warm salt water and using throat lozenges. Maintain complete hygiene and do antiseptic gargles with betadine as well.
