How Can I Wean Away From Hydrocodone 10/750?

Hi, I have been taking hydrocodone 10/750 for a very long time now, I am 58 years old and would really like to get off this terrible dependency, my question is the following. should I try one of those so called methadone clinics or continue with the current prescription, and as for a long time I mean over 30 years, I have what is called anklelosys spondylitis and had various surgeries already, the pain still persist and I must continue to be a provider so I continue to work and have not stop doing so .

Dear patient
Since you were taking hydrocodone , a steroid drug for last 30 years for ankylosing spondylitis it's natural to become dependant. Stopping drug ankylosing this stage would be a very difficult task for two reasons 1. Your whole body has become dependant on the drug and withdrawal symptoms can be life threatening. 2. Relapse of the ankylosing spondylitis disease . So its better to continue the drug and try medication for side effects of this drug if it's bothering. And if you are very serious about stopping hydrocodone try it only under the supervision and guidance of expert physician who can monitor you for withdrawal and relapse.
