hi, im a 23 year old.. i have hyper-pigmentation on my hands (due to mosquito bite scars) and these have reduced over the years a little but they become really dark when i get out in the sun even for a little while... i have been using a sunscreen with spf 50 but even then my hands are getting damaged... what do i do?
Hello, The dark spots left after mosquito bites is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Usually such pigmentation fades away with time and no specific treatment is required. In some resistant cases, I suggest application of a cream containing hydroquinone 2-45 at night time for few weeks.
Continue the use of suncreen on regular basis.
Hope this will take care of your issue. Dr Hardik Pitroda
