How Can Hip Pain After A Leg Surgery Be Treated?

I recently broke my leg at the ankle in 3 places and had open reduction with internal fixation. Since the surgery, my hip has begun to be extremely painful with any movement. What can be done to alleviate the pain so I can work on getting my ankle mobility back?

Hi,

Following the surgery I am sure you have been advised to go through a specific phase of Physiotherapy, which may last for over a month to a much longer period. Because to regaining strength and bring back all the muscles activity needs specific exercises. Hence a stint of structured physiotherapy is essential to get back full mobility. Only taking pain killers does not help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar
