How Can High Fever In A Toddler Be Treated?

26 month old male toddler, happy and eats well has had several episodes over a month period with extremely high temps, 103.8 + ... no rashes, but does end up with a stuffy, runny nose either before or after each fever. He s cutting molars, but his repeated condition seems extreme for dental issues. Blood work up is currently being done. Any hints, or help???

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Recurrent fever in children may be of very much reasons however if otherwise we'll, I mean if growing well and feeding well, common causes include chronic tonsillitis so I would advise you see a pediatrician this time. Another possibility is atopy or some times asthma can present repeatedly. So you should discuss with your doctor to exactly know.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further
