How Can High Fever In A Toddler Be Treated?

Hi Doctor, My kid is 3 years old. She is having high fever 102 degree with throat pain. So doctor suggested to give Mefthal. Last time when for similar symptoms, he suggested ibugesic. While ibugesic is a paracetamol, i heard mefthal is not a paracetamol. But either were prescribed for high fever. What is the difference between mefthal and paracetamol? Can we give both during high fever?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Meftal is having combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol while ibugesic is plain paracetamol.
Paracetamol will help include fever while ibuprofen will help improve throat pain.
So no need to give both, better to give Meftal for relief of both, fever and throat pain.
Also tell him to drink more fluids orally.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
