How Can High Fever And Sinusitis In An Infant Be Treated?

Our 14 month old grandson has been running a fever of 104 off and on now for about six weeks. He had Coxackie for about two weeks. It ran its course. Then he had a sinus infection. Then Coxackie again. Ran its course. Then he was diagnosed with an ear infection, prescribed antibiotic. Fever went away, returned. This time a double ear infection. Another round of antibiotics. Cleared up. Fever returned after about five days. Pediatrician said it was just a virus. Fever returned. Another MD prescribed another round of antibiotics. Seemed to clear up again for past 7 days. Tonight he came home from day care and running another Fever of 104. This is getting a bit scary. Can you give us any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First you should find out the reason behind this chronic and repeatative infection. Second thing try to focus on surrounding environment, food the baby eat, clothes wear, playing with which type of toys etc which help you to identify the source of infection. always clean baby regularly and focus on hygiene and sanitation practices. still it continues then look for a specialist for diagnosis of any defects in immunity of child etc. or any abnormalities in sinus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
