Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You shouldn't stop your medications, especially Metformin which stabilizes your blood glucose.
First of all start your medication again.
Naproxen (your arthritis medication)will help you to relieve pain.
Right now you may having flu like symptoms, however if the situations does not resolve within days contact your doctor for further follow up.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
