How Can Fungal Infection Between The Toes Be Treated?

We discovered that my mother-in-law has not had her toes checked in a nursing home. He has a terrible fungus growing between her toes. There are small off shoots of fungus growing like tenacles on her skin and one hard, almost bony like fungus that looks like a rotten tooth between her big toe and second toe. I treated it with vinegar till we can get someone to address this. Sadly, it is neglect of nurses not checking her feet or cleaning between her toes, which are rather severely defined as "Hammer Toes". Any advise on treatment would be appreciated. Her foot doctor is out of town.

Hard tenacles between toes can be a sign of fungal infection/malignant or benign growth of skin.
I recommend you to first visit dermatologist.It needs examination first to know if it is really a fungus or some malignant growth.
Does she have other medical conditions like diabetes mellitus,kidney disease?
If yes,that needs to be within control.

If that happens to be fungal infection,it can be treated by oral antifungals like ketoconazole/terbinafine for couple of months.
If some growth is suspected,it would need tissue biopsy and other detailed investigations.Treatment depends upon diagnosis.
Keep the area between toes airy,clean and dry.
