How Can Frequent UTIs Be Treated In An Elderly Female?

I am looking for a referral to a female urologist who ispecialises in treating female patients. I am 60 years old and have very frequent UTIs, like twice a month at this point. Antibiotics are helping only temporarily. There must be more than one patient in my age group with this medical history and someone is treating these patients better than others. I want to find that doctor. Can you help? Thank you so much.

Thanks for contacting HCM

I am sorry to hear that you are having frequent urinary tract infections. This problems is very common but is also a very troublesome. I agree with you that you should seek a urologist to further help your condition. Some other things you can do to help prevent urinary tract infections is to be sure to use the bathroom regularly and try and be sure to completely empty your bladder. when wiping after using the toilet wiping from front to back with a baby wipe will reduce chance for infection. Also placing you on a daily dose of antibiotics to suppress your bacterial counts may also be of benefit.

Hope this answers your question. If you have any inquiries please contact us so we can help.
