Hello,

Fever in toddlers is a very common finding and most of the times it is due to viral infections and will settle down in a few days. If the child is active, playful, eating well and energetic very likely nothing else is needed other then calpol. It is important you give the full dose of calpol needed to help with her fever, as it is instructed in the box of the medication depending on the dose of the medication and the age of the child for better effect on the fever.

If you think the child is not active and playful as usual and is not eating well then she needs a visit with her doctor and after examining her the doctor will decide on the need for antibiotics. Pecef is a wide spectrum antibiotic used in severe infections and would be best to be advised by a doctor rather than being used without a prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
