Hi Doctor, I had fever last week and I was advised to take calpol and antibiotics and cough syrup for cough, when i went for blood test after doctors advise i came to know the urine glucose random was 3 plus does this urine result of 3 + was due infection and antibiotics ? and my liver function test resulted as S.G.O.T 45 U/L and S.G.P.T 57U/L and i still have a mild stomach ache and my poo seems to be like moderate liquid not very loose and seems to going toilet for than twice, can you please suggest me on this ?
Cough/cold can affect blood sugar due to the body's stress response. This means that a person's blood sugar can go up when there is an infection present.
You would need to recheck the readings when you are well and you would also need to have the blood glucose done because urine glucose is not a good measure of how much sugar is in the blood.
The stomach symptoms would improve as the illness continues to resolve.
I hope this helps
