Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a hard time defecating. It feels like I really have to go and I push and push and only a small little Piece comes out. It’s right there in my rectum but doesn’t come out. There’s a bulge on my bottom and I can feel the poop in there when I sit down. What can I do, or take?
The only way to relieve fecal impaction is manual removal of the stool. You can do it yourself or get to an ER (Emergency Room) and get it removed.
It is advisable to take precautions in future to prevent such severe constipation as it may cause many complications in future like fistula and hemorrhoids.
For that, you have to eat a diet rich in fibres and drink lots of water. You can also take a stool softener like lactulose for a few days to relieve your constipation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
