How Can Fat Around The Stomach And Thighs Be Treated?

I am working on losing weight and fat. I am excercising to silver sneakers but what is the fat in the hanging stomach and it is on my upper leg now! What do I do? I am 5 and 205 lbs. Headed toward a knee replacement and have had back surgery. Lack of movement got me here and it is only getting worse.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, you can't really target where fat is gained or last despite what television commercials will tell you. Men tend to gain fat in there belly, while women tend to gain fat in their buttocks and thighs. The best thing you can do is to eat healthy and exercise. Since it sounds like your knees and back aren't the best, I'd recommend low impact exercises such as swimming or the elliptical trainer - anything that is easy on your joints. If you can go for a walk daily for 30 minutes that will help you as well.

I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
