How Can Excess Foul-smelling Saliva That Forms During Sleep Be Cured?
Hi doctor, for the past two to three years i have been having problem of excess saliva foaming and dropping from my mouth with a stinky smell while I m asleep. And sometimes it feels like I m having a dream only to wake up and see lots of saliva on my bed.
Hi, Thanks for your question. Please rate my answer if you are satisfied. Production of more and foul smelling saliva is an indication that you have too many bacteria in your mouth. Drooling during sleeping could be a normal thing though. For the foul smelling saliva I suggest you to maintain a good oral hygiene. Eat only at least 1.5 - 2 hours before going to bed. Brush and floss your teeth before bed and after rising. Use a good mouth wash at least twice a day. Don't eat lots of sugars. Drink plenty of water.
