How Can Elevated Triglyceride Levels Be Treated?

my triglyceride level was at 364 two months ago. I have been taking fenofibrate since. My levels have been rechecked and are down to 195. I have changed my diet and have been exercising. I have been avoiding alcohol altogether. I would really like to have a drink or two with my wife. At what point is it safe to indulge just a little?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As you already taking fenofibrate and triglyceride level went down, it's good. You can also take tablet atorvastatin if fenofibrate not tolerating, after consultation. Eat fat-free diet. Eat fiber more. Exercise daily. Walk a minimum of 30 mins daily. Do regular check-up of lipid profile. I will suggest you review here with detailed history or consult with a physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale
