How Can Elevated BP Along With Headache And Dizziness Be Treated?

I am 62. My blod pressure was 140/90 for a long time since I started taking medication before 10 years. My current BP is 150/90 taking ExForge 5/160. Currently it is difficult to get ExForge 5/160 so I was advised to take 5 mg amilodiphen and 25 mg HCT. my blood pressure dropped to 120/70 and start having headache and dizziness. what do you recommend? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my clinical experience, the headache and dizziness are side effects of newer anti hypertensive medication. I strongly recommend to consult your doctor and change the drug molecule and/or dosage of the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
