How Can Earache Be Treated?

Hi. I just had impacted cerumen removed from my left ear. After the process there was a pain in my ear and around it. Whenever I open my mouth the affected area hurts. The next day, my ear started to bleed but not too much. What happened and what can I do to help ease the pain and stop the bleeding? Is antibiotic recommended?

Hi..

Well the symptoms can be due to injury to the ear canal while removing wax or there is a possibility of injured eardrum leading to pain and bleeding..

However a clinical examination is a must to rule out the exact cause and the treatment can be advised accordingly..

So my suggestion is to consult an Otorhinoloaryngologist and get checked..

For now you can take painkillers like Ibuprofen to reduce pain.
You should avoid excessive mouth opening.
Do not try to put anything inside ear and even if there is blood get it cleaned professionally..

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
