How Can Earache And Tinnitus Be Treated?

My boyfriend has been taking an antibiotic for 6 days for an ear infection and his ear drum ruptured. He still can t hear out of his ear and there is a constant ringing. Also he has jaw pain. Is there anything that he could do to stop the pain and ringing.

dear user

thanks for contact HCM

brief answer

this could be treated with selective antibiotic and ibubrufen as analgesic and avoid ear drops ..it will take awhile time if small perforation of tympanic membrane

detailed answer

this tinnitus and pain caused by tympanic rupture is common symptoms of this rupture and no worry of that..tympanic membrane perforation is a complication of infection of ear was not treated effective...so he should take effective antibiotic injections like amoxicillin or cefoperazone and avoid ear drops....if tympanic membrane perforation small will improve by time and heal ....should take ibubrufen as analgesic and antiinflammatory to relief of pain and follow up with ENT

hope that helps
