How Can Diverticulitis Be Treated?

I had been diagnose with diverticulitis, my doctor put me on antibiotics Metronidazole 500mg 3 times a day for 7 days and Amox-Clav 875 125 mg 1 tab 3 times a day,... the pain has subsided and now I am having problems with a regular stool, at times its turned to diarrhea and have to take an anti-diarrhea medicine. this has been going on for about a week.

Hello welcome to the health care magic

For diverticulitis you have been prescribed broad spectrum antibiotic course.

So complete the antibiotic course.

In such condition fiber diet should be included more in diet

Take lots of water

Avoid excess spicy foods and oily foods

If repeated diarrhea than do stool routine micro examination and stool culture
