How Can Diarrhea With Black Stools Be Treated?

It seems that I have diarrhea (kind of black stools) just in the mornings....I think it started about 3 days ago. I start eating rice, dry toast, apple juice, veg juice and water. I have to say that it probably is due to grieving that I lost my friend to death last Thurs.

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a gastrointestinal infection. I suggest you use daily probiotics.

I also recommend using over the counter option to treat diarrhoea such as Imodium.

A stool test is needed to confirm the presence of blood in the stool and take further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
