Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The best treatment for diarrhea is to treat the underlying cause while taking care of the fluid and electrolytes imbalances that go with diarrhea.Possible causes may include: digestive viral, bacteria or parasitic infection, food poisoning...If i were her treating Doctor, i will start with a stool exam and culture. However, OFM syrup is a combination of Metronidazole, and Ofloxacin that may take care of a variety of digestive germs that may cause diarrhea.I will advise the following:
-Continue with OFM syrup
-Continue with ondem if vomiting persist
-Add oral rehydration salt to replenish fluid and electrolyte losses
-Zinc tablets to help in intestinal repair
-Avoid artificial sweeteners
If symptoms persist, you see the Doctor for reevaluation.
Hope this will help
Best regards
