How Can Diarrhea And Discomfort In The Stomach Be Treated?

I seem to always have a nervous stomach. And with it comes diarrhea. Seems every time I go some where I end up having to go to the bathroom. Sometimes two to three times within 5 to ten minute intervals. Then I m OK. Its very annoying. A nurse practitioner gave me Welchol (colesevelam HCI). As you know it doesn t dissolve well at all. I can no longer stand to drink this product. Is there something else I can get without getting harsh drugs? Thanks Carol

* Seems intestine infection with some bug or bacteria.
* Additional input for faster recovery

- Dietary measures to be followed strictly
- Hydration maintenance with more liquids and oral rehydration salt
- Antacid and proton pump inhibitor as Omeprazole or Pantoprazole with GI specific antibiotic, probiotic with lacto bacillus prescription
* Regular follow up with your PCP for vital parameters monitoring.

Hello,

You may be suffering from food intolerence or irritable bowel syndrome or malobsorption syndrome or inflammatory bowel problems etc. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. Avoid dairy products and gluten contain food. Use tablet Normaxin twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
