How Can Depression Along With Tendency To Rock Back And Forth Be Managed?

A 55-year old, otherwise healthy, woman has no thyroid activity, is depressed which includes a continuing rocking back & forth motion .....they cannot find out how to treat this. Antidepressants haven’t worked, & neither have hormones therapies. Needing guidance on where to look for help.

Hi,

For depression visit a psychiatrist & get physically examined. In the meantime you can take some Sedative & Sertraline under the treating PCP. Avoid addiction if any & take adequate sleep. The rocking movement is commonly due to neurological disorders, a person may move inadvertently to get relieve from stress & pain.

Decreased dopamine levels in the blood commonly causes Parkinson disease type movements. Get all the nerve function tests done under a Neurologist, get evaluated & treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K.
