My 2 year old grandson is having either pain or very is uncomfortable. We think he may be somewhat constipated. He keeps saying he has to go poop but has passed very little. What he did pass is a very pale color. What do you think it may be and what can we do?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!
Thanks for asking. A two year old child, if fed only on milk, is likely to pass pale motion. In addition to milk, the child should start eating food including cereals/pulses in semi-solid or liquid form. Boiled vegetables, soups, mashed fruits for having a well formed stool. If not, he needs to be investigated for liver problem. Give him sufficient food /water for having natural motion. Bowel training by attempting bowel movement at a fixed time would help. Add syrup of fig half to one spoon daily/syrup of Aloe Vera would help. Consult his pediatrician for expert opinion
Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.
Take care
