How Can Constipation Be Treated While Experiencing Palpitations When A Laxative Is Taken?

I am severely constipated since Friday, I have used may treatments except laxative wondering if I should try that next. But ... It is causing me to have irregular heat beats or palpitations, unsure what is best way to go laxative or hospital. Don t really want to go to hospital.

Hello,

Taking laxatives is a temporary solution for constipation. It is important to know what is the underlying cause of your constipation. The most common cause is faulty eating habits and taking inadequate fibres in diet. Avoid processed foods and foods containing refined flour. Eat lots of green vegetables and legumes. Drink at least 7 to 8 glasses of water every day. For now you can take Syrup Lactulose 10 ml before going to sleep at night.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman
