Welcome to the healthcare magic platform,
Dear Mr. Raja,
I have understood your query. Mostly the problem of
constipation can be treated with lifestyle changes and use of some laxatives. You have to incorporate few changes in your life which include:
1. Add fibrous food in your diet such as bran bread/wholegrain bread instead of white bread, use wheat flour, take fibrous fruits and vegetables. Add flex seeds into your breakfast.
2. Avoid junk food like puddings, sweets, cheese, cake, chocolates, coffee, fast food as they can make constipation worse.
3. Use Benefiber or Ispaghul husk sachets into plain water and have it preferable early in the morning
4. Take plenty of water and do not dehydrate yourself
5. Exercise daily as this will encourage bowel movements
6. For stubborn constipation, you can take
lactulose syrup 15 mL orally once a day
7. If lactulose syrup does not help you can take
Dulcolax tablet 1–2 for constipation relief. However, do not take this medicine for long term or if you got
diarrhea or abdominal cramps.
Try the above mentioned remedies first and let me know the results. Hope this answer is helpful. Please do no hesitate to ask any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Khoja
