How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

Hello, I recently took my 3 year old son to the ER for a fever. They said he has influenza and they prescribed him Tamiflu. I went to pickup his prescription and his insurance came up invalid. Long story short I have not been able to get him the medicine. He has been feeling better and no fever has come back. Today he started coughing and it has not stopped. Is there an alternative medicine I can give to him?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Cough could be due to upper respiratory infection mostly virus.

You can give give Syrup Maxtra. T minic for cough.
If the cough is associated with any pulmonary wheeze or excess secretions, then Syp. Asthalin can be used.

Hope this may help you
