Dear both hydrocodone and nucynta(tapentadol) both may act as cough suppressant. Your having productive cough so better to avoid above pain medicine until cough come down.
Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling. Use tab.deriphylline twice a day for five days. You can use appropriate antibiotics like macrolide or cephalosporin according to your health condition. Use expectorent syrp. ascoryl 2teaspoon thrice a day.
If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
