How Can Chest Congestion Along With Fever And Body Ache Be Treated?

I have had fever conditions for almost a week. I take ibuprofen every 6 to 8 hours to help regulate fever, I have some chest congestion but it has gotten better since I have taken doxycyclinehyclate ( 100 mg twice daily) for the past 5 days. Fever and body aches and chills followed by periods of excessive sweating persist.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to the HealthcareMagic!

Your work up done is as follows:

1) Auscultation

2) CBC

3) If needed, a chest x-ray after doing an auscultation.

If CBC shows high neutrophil count then an antibiotic course of Co-Amoxiclavor and Cefixime will be needed.

Decongestants like Levocetirizine 5 mg OD for five days should be prescribed.

Take one tsp turmeric powder with milk daily.

Steam inhalation should be done three times a day.

Salt water gargle with warm water needs to be done three times a day

Hope this solves your concern.

Take care
