How Can Charcot Foot Disease Be Treated?

Doctor, my husband has been diagnosed with a foot problem. Not only does he have fallen arch on one foot, but that wasn t the only thing wrong with it. A condition called, SHARKS was also diagnosed with the same foot. Can you please tell me a little bit more about this topic. M.C. PEEBLES Does this mean that I have to pay for a answer?

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your husband has diagnosed with fallen arch and charcot foot. Charcot foot is a condition causing weakening of the bones in the foot that can occur in people who have significant nerve damage (neuropathy). The bones are weakened enough to fracture, and with continued walking the foot eventually changes shape. As the disorder progresses, the joints collapse and the foot takes on an abnormal shape, such as a rocker-bottom appearance. Charcot foot is a very serious condition that can lead to severe deformity, disability, and even amputation. It occur in conditions which cause neuropathy such as diabetes. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
