How Can Bumpy And Extremely Itchy Rash On The Back Be Treated?
My friend has a bumpy rash on his back. It itches like crazy and he says it is from his neuropathy. He also has swelling and redness on his feet, ankles and up his calves. This area also itches. He scratches himself until he bleeds. What is all this and how can I help him?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bumpy and extremely itchy rash on the back . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query contact dermatitis , eczema , dry skin , eczema and erythema nodosum. Follicullitis or sun burn can also cause such symptoms .
I would suggest you to apply cold compresses on rashes , avoid applying any cosmetic product except petroleum jelly , take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl and drink plenty of water. Apply cold compresses and wear loose cloths .
If condition doesn't get well the consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like blood test , allergy test and skin patch test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment or antibiotics like clindamycin .
