Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query, you have symptoms of body ache along with chest congestion and fever which is due to upper respiratory tract infection leading to granular pharyngitis and could be viral co-infection as well.
I would suggest you do warm saline gargles, take steam twice a day and avoid cold carbonated beverages, your symptoms will resolve in 1 week. If symptoms keep on persisting, then you should consult an ENT specialist and take proper treatment.
You should get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests. A doctor may prescribe antibiotics (Amoxicillin or Penicillin) at least for 5 days along with the decongestant. Avoid use of sharp and spicy food substances and take cough expectorants.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
