How Can Blood Clots Behind The Right Ear Drum Be Treated?

Hi my girlfriend was involved in a very brutal attack back in January this year. She suffered many horrific injuries that she has been trying to cope with. There has been a new problem that has arisen with blood clotting behind her right eardrum with the blood coming from her nose too. Its 100% trauma based according to the doctor. She has a ENT specialist appointment in 2 weeks but the blood is getting worse. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Kindest Regards Jack

As per your query you have blood clots behind the right ear drum which is mainly due to ear infection, injury to ear drum and accumulation of wax and fluids. Sometime infection spread to ears through eustachian tube , when upper respiratory track infection is left untreated which causes pain as well. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper checkup and treatment . Doctor will examine ear and throat physically and ears with otoscope and rule out causes like wax buildup. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin) at least for 10 days along with anti inflammatory drugs. Doctor may also recommend tympanoplasty. Avoid touching and pricking it with sharp object. For now keep your ears dry and cover it while bathing.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
