How Can Atherosclerosis Be Treated?

tI am a an 84 year old female who has had several strokes Inot tias) and has been told I have atherosclerosis (sp) but have been highly functioning. Excuse pleas the typos as I have very poor eyesight, as well. I feel young and am interested in keeping up with my grandchildren s lives and with the times. What do you think/ I have diabetes as well and am recovering from a bad fall (broken femur and complications) I m a physical mess but improving.

I would like to tell you that atherosclerosis is a disease of large or medium muscular arteries caused by buildup of lipids, cholesterol, calcium and cellular debris within the intima of vessel wall. Atherosclerosis is the most common cause stroke.

Prevention and treat atherosclerosis requires risk factor control, including the medical treatment of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and Diabetes Mallitus with lifestyle Modification.
