How Can An Ovarian Cyst Be Treated?

Hello Doctor I am taking Euthyrox 50 mg for thyroid and nebilet 5 mg for blood pressure. Since three - four months, I am getting heavy periods which are lasting for more than 20 days. Ultra sound is showing a simple cyst in the ovary and small intra-mular fibroid in the anterior wall in uterus with a thick uterus lining. Kindly suggest the course/procedure of treatment.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. , I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Ovarian cysts are common and may be single, multiple or may occur as a part of pplycystic ovarian syndrome.
Also, hormonal imbalance may cause ovarian cysts which are which are in most cases small and asymptomatic but sometimes may cause symptoms and require specific treatment especially if cysts are larger than 5cm, bleeding cysts, torsioned or ruptured. The surgical treatment is required.
Also, if there is polycystic syndrome as underlying cause then hormonal therapy is indicated. Pain is usually placed deep in pelvis on affected side and may be associated with nausea and fever. To diagnose exact type it you should do ultrasound and vaginal examination.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time
