How Can An Itchy Forehead Lump Due To Trauma Be Treated?

Hi I have a similar problem to the ones listed below. About 16 months ago I hit my forehead on the my garage door. I felt a bit dizzy and concussed and went to A and E. My blood pressure went very high. When it came down they sent my away and said there was nothing to worry about. I noticed after that that there was a lump remaining. I forgot about it. But sometimes it was itchy. Yesterday I woke up and again it was itchy and seemed a bit bigger than normal. Is it anything to be worried about?

Hi. From what you tell me, it does not sound like anything to worry about. It may well be scar tissue from your initial scalp injury. If it is itchy you could try some antihistamines to help. It may be completely unrelated, like a sebaceous cyst. If it is worrying you and it is of significant size that it causes you problems, then surgical excision may be an option, however, bear in mind that this would entail a further cut and may cause you problems in excess of what you hare experiencing currently, especially if this is abnormal scar tissue, such as keloid.
