I severed the tendon behind my Achilles heel that will require day surgery to see together - however being a diabetic K have some neuropathy in my left foot. Is it wise to go ahead with the surgery and can the surgery affect the nerves in my foot making the neuropathy worse
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your history, It is better to go with surgery by an expert surgeon if you have severe pain. It may not cause nerve damage. Neuropathy can be controlled by proper diabetic control and exercise.
Take care. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shyam B. Kale
