How Can An Infected Ingrown Hair On The Neck Be Treated?

My 10 year old grandson has what looks like a small what looks like an ingrown hair or pimple, with white head, on his neck. When he gets stressed, anxious, angry, etc., a clear fluid leaks from this spot. He says he has gills. He s had it since he was born. Also, I ve noticed when he s sucking on a straw, it pulls in on that spot. I ve asked the pediatrician, but he kind of just blows me off and doesn t seem interested. I just got guardianship of him so I want to try to figure out what s going on.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It may be congenital mole or lipomas or sebaceous cyst. etc. Are you seeing ingrown hair? Usually any cyst no relation with sucking movements. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your dermatologist/general surgeon they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
