How Can An Acne On The Chin Be Treated?

My 10 year old son has a bump on his chin. I don t k ow if something bit him or what but it looks like staff. It s been there for a while. He won t let anyone look at it or anything. Does he need anti biotic or should we squeeze it ? Or can we just put hydrogen peroxide on it?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of boil (hair root infection on skin) is more likely.
So he will need antibiotic first.
Along with antibiotics, proper surgical dressing with betadine and hydrogen peroxide should be done.
If his swelling is improving then nothing more should be done.
But if swelling worsens or becomes more painful then consult doctor for incision and drainage (I and D).
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
