How Can Allergic Skin Bite Be Treated?

How to stop 2 day old 5 insect (ant) bites on the top of my foot itching. They are red swellings, 2 of which have popped. I have taken an antihistamine tablet and rubbed them with ice. I have fusidic acid 2% cream, hydrocortisone 0.5%cream. Are either of these suitable to treat/ prevent infection ......?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have allergic skin bite which is leading to anaphylactic reaction. I would suggest you to wash area properly and apply hydrocortisone cream over it. You should drink plenty of water and eat fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. You can apply topical antibacterial ointment as well. Visit dermatologist once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get proper prescription and start treatment. Avoid itching and pricking affected area.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
